Mission:The mission of the Cal Poly Women Faculty Association is to provide a forum to address and act upon issues and concerns of professional women at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Issues will include but not be limited to: - promoting quality education, - increasing productivity of women faculty (Collective Bargaining Agreement, Unit 3 employees) through extended support and technical assistance, - increasing the numbers of qualified women by bringing our perspectives to bear on university hiring, retention, promotion and tenure decisions, - creating a collegial work environment free of sexual innuendo and/or harassment, - educating men and women on the meaning of sexual innuendo and harassment, - increasing the impact of women on curriculum planning, focus and content, - providing moral support in teaching, research, writing and career activities, - working with other women 's organizations on campus and within the CSU system toward enhancing the education and working environment of women faculty, - working with diversity organizations to provide additional support to women from ethnic and sexual minorities, - expanding the on-campus child care capability more accurately to reflect the needs of faculty, and - encouraging social contact for mentoring and developing friendships for a higher quality of campus life in a safe and nurturing climate. |
