In September 1995, Cal Poly Pomona affiliated with the American Supplier Institute, Livonia, Michigan, to become the Western Taguchi Center. Cal Poly Pomona will work with the American Supplier Institute to provide workshops and symposiums as well as undergraduate education in Quality Engineering, Robust Design, Quality Function Deployment (QFD), and Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ).

	Dr. Genichi Taguchi Dr. Taguchi (biography) is well known for his development of Robust Design techniques. His contributions to the field of quality engineering being used throughout the world. Dr. Taguchi is Executive Director of the American Supplier Institute in Livonia, Michigan.
Second Annual Total Product Development Symposium at Cal Poly Pomona, November 6-8, 1996 300 people from all over the world attended this very successful symposium held at the Kellogg West Education Center. The Symposium featured case studies, tutorials, and special presentations on Robust Design, QFD, and TRIZ.
