MBRS-RISE Program
MINORITY BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH SUPPORT-
RESEARCH INITIATIVE FOR SCIENTIFIC ENHANCEMENT

The MBRS-RISE program offers talented undergraduate and graduate minority students an opportunity to prepare for a research career by participation in

Laboratory Research
Cellular and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Organic Chemistry, Physiology, Microbiology, Immunology, Neurobiology, Nutrition

Seminars
Learn about many areas of biomedical research, meet research scientists

Workshops
Learn how to do research, how to present research, to prepare for GRE,
admission to Graduate School

Travel to Scientific Meetings
Meet other researchers, present your research, learn new developments

Receive a Stipend ($) to work 40 hours/week during the summer, and
14 hours/week (undergraduates) or 20 hours/week (graduate students) during the academic year.

Selection based on your interest in a career in biomedical research, your desire and potential to do research, your GPA, and your course background.
