
On January 28, 2008, the National Defense Authorization Act (H.R. 4986) was signed into law. Included in the Act (Title V, Section 585, page 295) is an expansion to the Family and Medical Leave Act, creating new leave entitlements for employees who have a family member injured in service or called to active duty.
The law is effective immediately, and implements two (2) new types of Family Medical Leave (FML):
Once the new language contained in the National Defense Authorization Act has been analyzed it will be added to the CSU FML Policy.
