Working for California
Throughout the California State
University (CSU) system, campuses are
having a strong impact in their respective
communities. But when it is reviewed
collectively, the CSU might be California’s
most significant driving force. A recent study outlined
the social and economic impact of the CSU, and the
results are remarkable. Here is just a sample:
- Bachelor’s and master’s alumni living and working in
California earn an estimated $89 billion annually. Of
that, $25.3 billion is attributable to their CSU degrees.
- Every $1 invested in the CSU generates $4.41 for the
California economy. With enhanced earnings for graduates,
the annual return is $17 for each dollar invested.
- The CSU creates more than $3.11 billion in tax revenue,
which is greater than the state's annual investment in
the entire CSU. Read more...
