Dr. Danico returned to Cal Poly after a year as a Fulbright senior scholar in Seoul, Korea where she taught in the department of sociology at Ewha Womans University and conducted ethnographic research on Global Korean American Identities and Communities, and Pin@y domestic workers in Korea and Hong Kong. In addition, she is working on a research project in Orange County examining the needs assessment of low-income Asian Pacific Islander youth and co-editing a book title Transforming the Academy: Women, Queers, and People of Color Navigating Higher Education. She is a board member of the Association for Asian American Studies and sits on the Editorial Board of Contemporary Sociology Journal. She is the author of The 1.5 Generation: Becoming Korean American in Hawaii, Asian American Issues, book chapters, and journal articles.
