Preparatory Mathematics Program Policies 

Course Organization

  • The course will follow the syllabi schedule as closely as possible. You are expected to read through the indicated sections before each class meeting.This will allow you to get the maximum benefit from class discussions.
  • You are responsible for the assigned homework as each section is completed in class. Some minor changes may be made in the assignments as given on the homework page depending on individual class needs.
  • Homework will be collected each class meeting.

Testing and Grading policies

  • There will be 3 quizzes, 2 exams and a final for the course.
  • Questions on the quizzes and exams will be based on examples worked in class or assigned for homework.
  • Each quiz will be 15 minutes long. The exams will be 50 minutes long.
  • There will be no make-ups for quizzes or exams.
  • Students should be aware of the rules governing academic integrity in the course catalog. Any work that is not your own or that you have allowed others to copy will not be graded for credit and may result in a referral to judicial affairs.
  • ELM score placement

PMP Workshop - an integral part of the course

  • The workshops start the first week of the quarter. You must come the first day to retain your seat. Since the lecture and lab are co-requisites, it is essential to be registered in both.
  • Math 010L will meet for about 3 hours per week (two 75-minute meetings).
  • Math 011L will meet only 2 hours per week (two 50-minute meetings).
  • You must be enrolled in a workshop and attend that particular workshop all quarter.
