Climatology is an upper division science and technology synthesis general education course (B4). It is also a required core course for geography majors. In the context of climatology, students will learn the basic principles and methodologies in physical sciences including problem definition, literature research, scientific data collection and analysis methods.  Both quantitative and qualitative approaches will be explored.  Students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge and skills obtained in lower division GE or geography courses to investigate topics related to climatology, to conduct research in climatology, and to write their findings.  Students majoring in Geography and other related fields (BIO, GSC, AG, LA, ARC, URP, etc.) will have the opportunity to enhance their understanding of the earth’s physical environment and to be exposed to various application issues of climatology related to their field.
