Finding Materials in Spanish in the Cal Poly Library

1. From the Library Homepage, click on the catalog link:

2. Perform a search on your subject and press GO: 

3. Click on the green button to modify the search.

4. On the Modify Screen, Select “Spanish” on the language pulldown and click on “Submit”

5. Look at the results of the search. Most of the items will not really be in Spanish; look for ones with a title in Spanish and click on that:

6. The screen for each book will tell you what floor the book is on, its call number, and whether it is checked out or not.

The Ethnic Newswatch database has several full text periodicals in Spanish.

1. Click on the “Databases” link on the Library Homepage.

2. Click on the letter “E” on the Databases Page

3. Click on the name “Ethnic News Watch” on this list.

4. Change the pulldown on the far right to “Espanol”. The interface then changes to Spanish.

5. Type in a search term in the form and click on the button “Buscar”.

6. Some of the articles will be in English; look for titles in Spanish.

7. You can then read the article right on the screen. (Scroll down to where it says “TextoCompl eto”

We have the Spanish Language Magazine “Americas” at call number F1401 a573 in the periodicals area.

We have the Spanish Language Newspapers “La Opinion” and “Excélsior”in the Newspaper area.
