College Health Objectives Submitted
for Healthy People 2010
The American College Health Association Task Force on College
Health Objectives for 2010 needs your comments on the following
objectives by December 12, 1998. Comment on objectives
to add, delete or revise, baseline data for college students and
university health services, data and data sources, and targets.
Send your comments for adding, changing or revising objectives;
sources of data; baseline data; or targets to the Task Force at
collhlth2010@csupomona.edu.
Although the comments had to be in by December 15, 1998, there
are opportunities to help DHHS fine tune the next draft.
Objectives found so far to be related to college students or
university heath services are listed with their:
- Numbers and Titles
- Data Source, if one is known for college students
(i.e., 1995 National College Health Risk Behavior Survey (NCHRBS),
the future ACHA College Health Assessment and other sources (i.e.,
ACHA task forces and committees))
- Baseline data, if known by the Task Force to be available,
for college students is listed. Proxy data might be used if national
data is not available.
- Target: the one listed in the draft for the primary
population or select population (there are only two for college
students in Obj. 4-3 and 26-7b). The draft is at http://web.health.gov/healthypeople/2010Draft/index.htm
- Note: this give suggestions for including college
students as a select population and/or suggestions for revising
current objectives.
