Plumber - $26.09 per hour
Carpenter - $24.55 per hour
Electrician - $26.09 per hour
Locksmith - $24.55 per hour
Painter - $24.55 per hour
Facilities Worker I - $20.04 per hour

The purpose of this recruitment is to produce a pool of qualified applicants to call upon for trade needs as required. Please indicate on the application under "Employment Interest" the classification for which you wish to be considered.
Plumber: Ability to perform plumbing work and care for tools, materials, and equipment; ability to make rough sketches of minor plumbing installations, read blueprints, and work from plans and specifications; ability to estimate materials and labor costs for minor plumbing jobs. The ability to obtain water treatment certification required of some Plumber 1 positions.
Carpenter : Ability to operate woodworking machinery; prepare rough sketches of work and estimates of materials and labor; read blueprints and work from plans and specifications; interpret specifications and recognize lumber types and grades; keep simple records and make reports.
Electrician: Ability to assemble, install, maintain and repair electrical apparatus; read, interpret, and work from plans, drawings, and specifications; make rough sketches and estimates of the cost of electrical work; keep simple records and make reports; analyze emergency situations accurately and take prompt action
Locksmith: Thorough knowledge of all types of lock, fastening devices and related hardware; ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
Painter: Ability to scrape, sand and fill surfaces in preparation for painting and finishing; brush and spray paint neatly and accurately; mix paints and match colors; erect and work from ladders, scaffolding and rigging; do paperhanging; estimate materials needed; keep simple records and make reports; instruct and lead unskilled assistants.
Facilities Worker I: Thorough knowledge of the basic tools, materials, methods and terminology used in one or more of the building and mechanical trades; ability to perform a variety of semi-skilled duties pertinent to assignment; maintain tools, machinery and equipment in good repair and condition; do strenuous manual labor; follow simple oral and written directions.
Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of progressively responsible training and experience which demonstrates achievement of a journey level of skill equivalent to that acquired through completion of an apprenticeship program; read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position; make simple arithmetic calculations where required.. Must possess a valid California Driver's License and provide a current DMV Driving Record upon submission of application and again at the time of hire.
* Employment in this position may end before, or be extended, beyond the date stated in a temporary status, and/or be converted to a full-time, probationary or part-time, temporary position contingent upon the operational needs of the University.
