Commonly Requested Graduate Program Information

  • We do not grant a Ph.D. degree in Engineering. Therefore, Cal Poly Pomona is not able to guarantee financial assistance to international graduate students, although a limited number of research assistantships and scholarships are funded through internal and external grants after two completed quarters. Graduate students who are not residents of California need to establish financial responsibility prior to their enrollment.
  • The College of Engineering offers Master of Science Degrees in Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Engineering Management
  • We do not offer a Master's program in the areas such as Chemical and Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering.

Notes for International Students Interested in Graduate Study

  • Tuition fees are approximately $7,000 per year; this does not include food, lodging or books.
  • Requirement for an I-20 is to show a minimum of $18,500 in your banking account.
  • Note that our admissions policy may require you to pass the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a score of at least 550, and submit a test score of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) the subject test in engineering or the general test. These tests need to be taken as early as possible to avoid delaying a decision on your application.
