- Critically evaluating information from the popular media for biological accuracy, biases, prejudices, assumptions and judgments
- Understanding the essential role of the Scientific Method in human sexuality
- Value the biological foundations of human sexuality, particularly human anatomy and physiology
- Use a biological knowledge base in order to think independently and understand the relevance of biology in forming opinions and ideas concerning their own human sexual behavior
- Evaluate psychological and social aspects of human sexuality within the biological framework
- Assess ethical issues relating to human sexuality
- Understand the epidemiology of STDs and AIDS, societal impacts, ethical issues and prevention.
- Appreciate how the scientific method is used to develop treatments for STDs and AIDS.
