Apart from teaching and chairing the Psychology and Sociology Department, I have held positions at the Cal Poly International Center and at the CSU Chancellor's Office of International Programs. I continue to encourage and work with students who are interested in studying abroad.

My current professional research interests include the relation of gender to emotion and 12-Step mutual help groups. My masters thesis was on intermarriage and I continue to research and write on interethnic and cross-national marriage as well.
