RESEARCH INTERESTS
Organic Chemistry
The research efforts in our group are centered around electrically conductive polymers. Projects include: (1) investigating the mechanism of aniline polymerization, (2) studying
the nature of intensely-colored pi-conjugated systems as they are forming, and (3)
the synthesis of novel metal-containing electronically-delocalized polymers.
Techniques used in our group include: synthesis, TLC, flash chromatography,
GC-MS, FT-IR, FT-NMR, size-exclusion chromatography, DSC, TGA, scanning electron microscopy, viscometry, film casting,
UV / fluorescence spectrophotometry, and electrical conductivity measurements.
