Budget Services

Welcome to Budget Services! We are responsible for the budgetary needs of the University and provide support and assistance to the campus community for forecasting, planning, implementation and administration of the University's budget, including capital project accounting and utility budget accounting.

Our aim is to position the University in a pro-active planning of resource distribution and allocation. Additionally, we serve to accommodate the University's use of funds by allocating, reviewing and monitoring the resources distributed among the divisions and functions of the University, ensuring compliance with State laws, CSU, and campus policies and procedures.

We are located in CLA Building 98, Room 123 within the office of University Accounting Services. Our office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

What's New...

2007-08 Year-End Processing Timeline

The 2007-08 Administrative Processing Timeline memo has been distributed to all Deans, Directors and Department Heads.

HR Expenditure Report

The HR Expenditure Report has been revised and the main enhancement is that we've added a new column - Charge Period (Charge Per) which will display the year and month for which the expense is being posted to the Department. This will help particularly when retroactive pay adjustments are provided to employees.

Also, we've deleted the benefits portion for all POM01 Departments except Health Services since the POM01 departments do not pay these expenses. If you need benefits cost information, please see the 2007/08 Benefits Billing Rates memo.

Other funds that pay benefits (Parking, Housing, CERF, etc) will continue to see that cost information on the expenditure report.

Budget Training

We offer on-line Finance Webtools training. For group or individual training, please contact Brigitte Epstein at extension 5413 for further information.

Commonly Used Accounts

This will take you to a page that shows the most commonly used expense accounts that are used for purchase orders, budget transfers, as well as, salary and wage accounts.

Compensation Information

This will provide you with the current year's collective bargaining information. Source of data is from Cal Poly Pomona Human Resources/Payroll Services. Questions regarding compensation should be directed to Payroll Services.
