iClicker is a classroom response system. It consists of three parts: an instructor base that plugs into the instructor’s computer and receives radio signals; an instructor’s response clicker; and Classroom Response clickers. Both the instructor’s clicker and the students’ clickers send radio signals to the base.
Instructors can pose multiple-choice questions to students. Students click in their answers, and data is collected in the instructor’s base unit. The instructor can immediately see the aggregate response from the class and decide how to handle the topic based on the students’ responses. The base stores data from each individual clicker that can be used for grading purposes in very flexible ways through the associated software called iGrader. iGrader comes with iClicker; you do not have to get separate software or equipment.
The Bronco Bookstore is ordering clickers for students. Please inform Suzanne Donnelly, smdonelly@csupomona.edu, 909.869.3274, that you want to use iClickers, in which class or classes you will be using them, and how many students you anticipate in these classes. Students will purchase their clickers at the bookstore.
Go to http://www.csupomona.edu/~ehelp/iclicker/ to see screen shots and get started with iClicker and the associated program iGrader. iGrader will work along with BroncoDirect and BlackBoard to help you create a student roster.
