C. Irby Award
A $500 scholarship award has been established in memory
of Charles C. Irby, the first chairperson of the Ethnic and
Women's Studies Department. Each year the EWS Department presents
the award to a GEMS student demonstrating excellence and promise
in any area of Ethnic or Women's Studies. Award for a senior
GEMS major. Minimum Cal Poly Pomona GPA of 3.0
Richard & Teresa Santillan Service /Activist Award
A $400 scholarship award for outstanding service and
activism at Cal Poly Pomona. Award for a junior or senior GEMS
major. Minimum Cal Poly Pomona GPA of 3.0
Ann Ascher Memorial Book Award
A $100 Book award for outstanding service to the EWS
Department. (Bronco Bookstore gift certificate). Award for 1st,
2nd, or 3rd year GEMS major. Minimum Cal Poly Pomona GPA of
2.5.
Humber Family Memorial Award
A $400 scholarship award for leadership and creativity
as a GEMS major. Award for 2nd, 3rd or 4th year GEMS major.
Minimum Cal Poly Pomona GPA of 2.5.
Nirmal Jain Promising Student Award
A $500 award for academic achievement as a GEMS major.
Candidates must describe in their essay how these funds would
aid in continuing their work at Cal Poly Pomona. Award for 1st,
2nd, or 3rdh year GEMS major. Minimum EWS GPA of 3.0.
Jain Family Scholar-Activist Award
A $500 scholarship award for outstanding scholarly
and activist work. Award for a junior or senior GEMS major.
Minimum EWS GPA of 3.0
Office of Student Life and Cultural Centers Award
A $500 scholarship award for outstanding service and
activism in association with the Office of Student Life and
Cultural Centers. Award for a junior or senior GEMS major. Minimum
EWS GPA of 3.0.
