The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) utilizes contractor(s) and the cooperation of Facilities Management, Facilities Customer Service, and the San Gabriel Valley Mosquito & Vector Control District to deal with most rodent and insect issues on campus. Funding is provided from ASI, Cal Poly Pomona Foundation,, Academic Affairs, Environmental Health & Safety and the President's Office to service most areas on campus. University Housing and Procurement in Building 75 currently have separate programs.
EH&S responds to all calls regarding indoor and outdoor coyotes, squirrels, rats, and mice. EH&S also responds to outdoor insects such as wasps, bees, mosquitoes, and ants. Facilities Management responds to deceased animals not killed in traps set by EH&S's contractor(s). The Landscape Services Department pick ups deceased animals outside of buildings, while the Custodial Services Department pick ups deceased animals in buildings. EH&S's contractor will respond to animals caught in the EH&S's contractor's traps.
