The Cal Poly Pomona web templates are designed to provide a consistent look-and-feel across all campus sites, and yet provide flexibility in navigation and the ability to individualize them by use of different banner graphics. They are written in valid XHTML 1.0 Transitional and valid CSS, using structured markup, and they exceed Sect. 508 accessibility guidelines.
The templates are produced by the Web Team, and earlier versions are already in use across the campus. This tutorial provides instructions for the use of Version 4.1, first introduced in January, 2008; the current Version 4.2 will be covered by the tutorial soon.
Support for transitioning institutional web pages to the templates is provided by I&IT Web Development. For further information, contact Curtis Clark (jcclark@csupomona.edu) or Jerry Lerma (jelerma@csupomona.edu). Support for instructional web pages is provided through I&IT Learning. In the spring of 2008, I&IT Web Development is planning to introduce a system for the easy creation and customization of instructional and personal web sites.
