Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs)

Palm Treo

Palm Treo cell phone/PDAs are used in various places around campus.This section may expand in the future; now it has instructions for setting up Versamail on the Treo to synchronize with the Exchange Server for email and calendar functions.

If you have a state-purchased Treo and your department technician is unable to provide assistance, please contact the Help Desk.

Microsoft Active Synch and Windows Mobile, Version 5 and 6

The Cal Poly Pomona email system is fully compatible with Microsoft Active Synch and Windows Mobile, Version 5 and 6. If your phone has a data plan in addition to the standard phone plan, you will be able to receive and synchronize emails, contacts and calendar items on your mobile device.

Information for phones that support Microsoft Active Synch, Windows Mobile 5 and Mobile 6:

Incoming (Exchange) Mail Server Name: exchange.csupomona.edu

Requires SSL: Yes

Domain Name: win.csupomona.edu

User Name: BroncoName

Password: BroncoPassword

 

Information for phones that support IMAP mail server configurations such as iPhones, Sprint  phones and other non-Microsoft mobile operating systems:

Incoming Mail Server Name: exchange.csupomona.edu

Requires SSL: Yes

IMAP SSL Port: 993

User Name: BroncoName

Password: BroncoPassword

 

Information for phones that support POP3 mail server configurations:

Incoming Mail Server Name: exchange.csupomona.edu

Requires SSL: Yes

Incoming SSL POP3 Server  Port: 995

User Name: BroncoName

Password: BroncoPassword

 

In the event your configuration requires SMTP authentication, the information is as follows:

Outgoing Mail Server Name: smtp.csupomona.edu

Outgoing SSL SMTP Server Port: 465

User Name: BroncoName

Password: Your network password - NOT your BroncoPassword (this is the password you use to retrieve your email).
