The following sites provide resources helpful for completion of a term paper.

 OnLine Writing Lab

Provides access to many resources. Under 'Resources for Writers', select 'Instructional Handouts', then select 'Research Papers'. The Purdue University Writing Lab provides a step-by-step procedure for writing a research paper. This site also includes punctuation hints, advice on using quotes, paraphrasing, and summarizing. Also covers how to cite sources, both print and electronic.

 Webster Dictionary

 Online access to Merriam Webster Dictionary and Thesaurus.

OneLook Dictionaries 

 As the name implies, you can search individual dictionaries or several of them at the same time (takes longer). Contains dictionaries for specific disciplines: arts and humanities, business, computer, internet, medicine, and science to name a few. Also includes special dictionaries such as: slang, acronyms and abbreviations.

 English Language dictionaries, jargon dictionaries, and access to dictionaries in other languages.

 A Web of Online Dictionaries

 Provides links to dictionaries in 150 different languages.

 Roget's Thesaurus

 Tired of using the same words or phrases, try this source for a little variety.

 

Style Manuals and Guides to Citing Electronic and Print Sources:

The English Papers

 This Addison Wesley Longman's (a publisher of books in the fields of composition, literature, basic skills, and technical writing) site contains original resources and material for users of all our English texts in the fields of composition, literature, developmental skills, and technical writing.

 Writing Resources

 Includes help on common errors in english, basic guide to grammar, and links to stylebooks.

 Bibliographic Citations

A Cal Poly Pomona Library Guide that provides a good overview with examples of how to cite various sources: books, encyclopedias, periodicals, and electronic information. Lists reference books that will also provide guidance.

 Elements of Style

Covers the essential rules of English usage and principles of composition. We also carry this resource in print: PE 1408 .S722 1979 (fourth floor)

 Electronic Style

Provides a good overview of the importance of citing material used in preparing your paper, details citing elements, and gives examples of citations for the Social Sciences, Humanities, and Medicine.

 APA (American Psychological Association) Style Resources

 Bibliographic Formats for Citing Electronic Information

 Includes examples of both APA and MLA Styles.

 MLA (Modern Language Association) Style
