Dr. Brown has served as Director of the Center since 2004 and regularly teaches Methods and Applications in Regenerative Studies (RS 540) and Ecological Patterns and Processes (RS 465). He is currently engaged in the following research initiatives:
Dr. Brown serves as Co-Chair for the President's Climate Commitment Task Force at Cal Poly Pomona, and has worked with colleagues and students on the development of the campus climate action plan. He received a Bachelor in Landscape Architecture from the University of Minnesota, a Master of Landscape Architecture and Ph.D. in Regional Planning from the University of Massachusetts. |

Dr. Lawrence is on sabbatical, Spring, 2011. Dr. Brown is serving as Acting Graduate Coordinator in her absence. Please direct all inquiries to him (kdbrown@csupomona.edu). Dr. Lawrence has served as Graduate Coordinator of the Master of Science in Regenerative Studies program since 2003 and was one of the original members of the Lyle Center Design Team in 1986. Dr. Lawrence is an anthropologist and teaches core graduate program courses including: Regenerative Practices (RS 501); Regenerative Concepts and Social Practices (RS 510L); and Coalition Building (RS 640). Her research interests focus on:
Dr. Lawrence also teaches in the Architecture Department where she specializes in human behavior aspects of design. She has co-edited an anthology,The Anthropology of Space and Place (Blackwell, 2003) and is the author of numerous articles on the vernacular architecture of rural southern Portugal. Dr. Lawrence received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Southern California, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of California, Riverside. |

Dr. Ahmadzadeh is a Lyle Center Faculty Fellow (2007) and has taught regenerative studies courses in bioremediation as well as Regenerative Practices (RS 501) and Nature as Model (RS 520). He received his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from the University of Alberta, and previously held research positions at the University of Minnesota, York University and Target Discovery, inc. |

Mr. Araya has taught courses in agroecology and natural processes at the Center, as well as serving as the Center's Site Technician, responsible for all agricultural operations, site maintenance, and supporting field and lab experiments. He came to the Center in search of a position that would enable him to apply the skills in sustainable agriculture he has gained through his education. Juan has a BS in Agronomy and an MS in Plant Science from Cal Poly Pomona. |

Dr. La Roche regularly teaches Regenerative Technologies (RS 530) in the MSRS program. His current research interests include:
Dr. La Roche is currently writing a book on carbon neutral design and is actively engaged with the Habitat 21 housing prototype for Tijuana, experimenting with low cost housing solutions for less developed countries. He has an Architecture and Masters of Science degree from Universidad del Zulia in Venezuela, and a Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles. |
