After making her debut with the Broncos last season, Kirksey returns for her second year with the program. Should see considerable playing time at the center position. One of the team's most physical players and best rebounders. Will be expected to defend perimeter and post players.
FRESHMAN (2004-05) : Appeared in nine games and played a total of 97 minutes. Averaged 10.8 minutes, 2.4 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Scored five points in 16 minutes against Sonoma State ( 12-3-04 ) and also had five points in 14 minutes at Seattle Pacific ( 12-30-04 ).
AT JUNIPERO SERRA HS : Was a team Most Valuable Player all four years in high school. Earned All-South Bay Area first-team honors as a senior and second-team recognition as a junior. Earned All-Camino Real League honors all four years in high school. Received second-team honors as a freshman and first-team honors her remaining three years. Earned second-team All-CIF honors as a junior and first-team honors as a senior. Averaged 13.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. Also played volleyball in high school and averaged 13 kills per match.
PERSONAL : Daughter of Lawrence Gant and Portia Kirksey-Gant. Majoring in psychology. Enjoys singing, dancing, talking on the phone and hanging out with friends. Lists winning the first league championship at her high school and getting her high school jersey retired as her most exciting experiences in sports.
