Jaida Williams, 1st season, Cal Poly Pomona '04

A former player for the Broncos, Jaida Williams joins the Cal Poly Pomona coaching staff as an assistant coach.

Williams will be in charge of the team's academics and will also assist with recruiting and practice schedules. She also has created and updates the web site for the women's basketball program, “CPP Hoops” and maintains the web site for the program's booster club, “The Trophy Club.” She also helps with the post players.

Williams was a player for the Broncos in the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons. She had to sit out more than half of the season becasue of personal reasons. She averaged 5.1 points per game and then appeared in all 30 games last season, averaging 6.6 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. She scored 16 points and had five rebounds for the Broncos in a win at Cal State Stanislaus on Jan. 31, 2004 .

She also competed for two years at Barry University , where she earned first-team All-Sunshine State Conference honors and Kodak All-America honors as a sophomore. She led the team in scoring with 15.8 points per game and rebounding with 9.9 boards per game. She had a career-high 31 points in a game against Tampa and had a career-high 25 rebounds against Florida Memorial. She also starred at American Senior High School , where she averaged 17.3 points and 9.9 rebounds per game as a senior.

Williams graduated in 2004 with a degree in journalism. She is now pursuing her masters degree in Sports Psychology. She enjoys shopping and listening to music.
