16th Annual Hospitality Career Expo Attracts More Than 30 Firms
POMONA, Calif. — The sluggish economy will not deter more than 30 leading hospitality industry firms from searching for recruits at The Collins College of Hospitality Management’s 16th annual Hospitality Career Expo on Thursday, Feb. 26.
Co-hosted by the Career Center, the career expo will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at The Collins College.
"The Career Expo is designed to give students a leg up as they start their careers,” said Collins College Dean Andy Feinstein. “The expo is in its 16th year, however given the state of the economy, this may be one of the most important years for students to participate."
As one of the top hospitality colleges in the United States, Collins College students are in high demand. In past years, most Collins College graduates have received job offers before commencement.
This career expo will feature some of the nation's leading hospitality firms, including Sodexo, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, Marriott International, Panda Restaurant Group, Lawry's Restaurants, Inc., Southern Wine & Spirits, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Ecolab, Bunker International, California Pizza Kitchen, Claim Jumper Restaurants and many others.
Recruiters will be offering career opportunities and internships, answering questions and conducting interviews with participants.
In tandem with the Career Expo, the newly revived Collins College Alumni Chapter will host an alumni breakfast for any alumni attending the event. Hotel and restaurant management alumni are welcome to stop by the Hideo Amemiya Boardroom anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 9:45 a.m.
Attendees are encouraged to dress professionally and bring copies of their resumes. For more information contact Donna Dannan from The Collins College at (909) 869-4191 or Veronica Moy from the Career Center at (909) 869-2341.
