Australian & Pacific Island Rainforest
Australia and New Guinea were the home to some important crop plants, including taro and breadfruit, that were carried across the Pacific islands by early Polynesian settlers. Some of the native flora of the Pacific islands comes from New Guinea as well, but other elements are Asian, or even Californian: the silverswords of Hawai‘i are related to California tarplants.
