Aidan Bantillo’s Webpage

Introduction

Hello and welcome to my page. My name is Aidan Bantillo, and this is my webpage. Yeah that’s a picture of me, but seriously I don’t look nearly as tough as the picture suggests…. that and the shades were borrowed… heh. (I’m looking at it right now, and to be honest, I think I want to replace it, but I have no time now… maybe later.)  I am a Political Science Major here at Cal Poly Pomona. I’m not really a serious person. Sure, when it’s important I can be serious, but most of time I prefer to be able to laugh and poke fun at just about anything.

Bio

            This will be made later when I actually have more time maybe because my life’s story is SO interesting. (Not really, sorry to disappoint.)

Reasoning

            Let’s pretend you know about me, and you know that I’m not too interested in webpage design. To that end you may ask, “Aidan, why are you making a webpage if you really aren’t that interested? Well… its one of the assignments from the PLS 101A class I signed up for. Thanks a bunch professor. Here are the requirements for the assignment as seen on his PLS 101A website:

Assignment 2 (15 points): Personal Web Site (due 4/26)

Publish your own personal web site on the Cal Poly Intranet.  Call your home page "index.html."  At a minimum, your site should include:

*       your resume (on a separate page), also in web page (HTML) format.

*       one or more graphics (being careful not to violate copyright laws).

*       links to one or more sites external to Cal Poly, Pomona.

*       a link to your e-mail address.

*       a background other than white and some (unlinked) text other than black.

*       one or more horizontal lines (horizontal rules).

*       one or more tables.

*       a link to campus policy on Web sites (https://www.csupomona.edu/~iit/division/policies/web.shtml).

*       a link to the campus home page (http://www.csupomona.edu).

*       the following (or similar) disclaimer: "The information on personal web pages represents that of the author and not that of Cal Poly Pomona.  The author takes full responsibility for the information presented."

*       date of last revision.

Links

            As required by the project, I am to offer a variety of links to certain pages aligned to Cal Poly:

*       Cal Poly Campus Policy Web Sites, click here

*       Cal Poly Campus Home Page, click here

*       If for some reason you have to E-mail me, click here

*       Finally a resume which can be seen by clicking here

Online Hobbies

            This is for basically what I do for fun when I log into the Internet. Click on the titles for the links.

*       Play Online Text-Based Games – Back in high school a friend of mine got me to play this text based game, I tried it out, made some international friends and they eventually got me into other text-based games. (Yes, its time to show off my inner geek for the sake of fulfilling the assign requirements.) Here are a few I play:

    1. Torn City – Basically you are a citizen in this city and basically you do whatever you please from getting a job, to gambling, and certain illegal forms of monetary gain such as stealing, breaking and entering, and such.
    2. Star Kingdoms – Basically you get to create a kingdom out in space and interact with other people while you build that kingdom. Then you eventually get lumped together into an alliance where you basically band together and some such.
    3. New War Era – Pretty much the same as Star Kingdoms. One of my online friends convinced me to try it out and here I am still playing it.

*       Read Forums – I have an account at a few forums and like to read what other people think, and once in a blue moon, post what I think. Here are the links to a few:

    1. Star Kingdoms Public Forum – An extension of the Star Kingdoms game in the game section. I usually like to read the items that go on in the General discussion area. The topics vary from hard-hitting political issues to love and romance. Of course, every now and then there are topics that are just plain absurd.
    2. Source Alliance Forum – This was started by the online friends that I made during my move into the text-based games. I’m there mostly because my friends are and I help moderate the forum. Cut the obscene stuff if it happens to rear its ugly head. Topics aren’t as insightful as the Star Kingdoms Public Forum, but it’s where my friends are.
    3. Gaia Online – It’s a VERY large online social community. There’s more to it then forums, but that’s much of what I do there, read forums. They have separate sections catering to whatever you want to discuss about. That and they have a variety of mini-games and a unique avatar creating system.

And now finally, I leave with these words of wisdom:

Disclaimer: The information on personal web pages represents that of the author and not that of Cal Poly Pomona.  The author takes full responsibility for the information presented. Seriously, if anything is wrong and it just HAS to be removed, edited, or whatever, please just leave me a message and I’ll get to it.
